"When I became a mother, I got too entangled in looking after my family. I felt spiritually worn out. Joining a WOWMOM group in 2017 helped me to realign my priorities by putting Jesus first. His love overflows to all other areas of my life! I have benefited immensely from the WOWMOM teachings in my growth as a mother. I am still fraught with many imperfections, but I know that God's power is made perfect in my weakness. I thank God for a humble and encouraging leader, who always edifies us with comforting words that are etched deeply in my heart when I lose hope in parenting. Words like ""it's never too late"" may seem insignificant but it means a lot to me in times of despair. These words are like honey that soothes and heals.
In 2020, I missed several WOWMOM meetings as I started working part-time as a preschool teacher. Teaching has always been my passion and I enjoy being with children. I tried taking leave to attend the WOWMOM meetings as I did not wish to lose touch with the teachings that had guided me in my walk with Christ.
This year, things took a turn as I decided to slow down and put aside my teaching passion. When I was on my way to work last year, God impressed upon me a personal theme, 'Focus on My Family' and to care for my children.
Hence, I decided to put my work aside for the time being to be available physically and mentally for my daughter and son who are studying in primary school. The simple pleasures of preparing nutritious home-cooked food, walking with them to and from school, and accompanying them as they study are simple things that I have learnt to enjoy and be content with. I still miss my work in the Early Childhood field, but I believe there is a season for everything and everything is made beautiful in God's time. Childhood will pass by very fast, and I desire that my children remember the time and love that I give to them now.
Above all, I want them to remember that it is Christ’s love that binds us together.
