Picture a Cru staff arriving at the office to discover that the biometric system fails to recognise his face or has issues accessing information in the cloud. Or encountering no snacks and beverages in the pantry to tide him through a day of meetings, and having no meeting space as we have 19 ministries but only seven meeting rooms at Cru Centre. Imagine having no one to process donations and reimbursements, or worse still, there is no internet connection and the lift has been down for a few days!
Building and maintaining core support systems and infrastructure are crucial in empowering our staff to minister at full capacity and to keep the mission on target.
Our staff serving in operations, finance and information technology (IT) have the same goal as anyone else in the ministry: to make disciples of all nations. We want everyone, everywhere to know someone who truly follows Jesus Christ. These teams, collectively known as the Ops team within Cru Singapore, do so through building organisational capacity to accelerate spiritual movements everywhere.
The Ops team consists of people gifted and chosen by God, who value accuracy, timeliness, integrity, efficiency and professionalism to serve our staff and stakeholders. The team provides what is necessary to generate, deliver and steward the resources needed to see reach, build and send take place.
Day-to-day tasks involve providing a safe and conducive work environment, handling enquiries and feedback, maintaining systems and facilities, ensuring timely payments, and so much more. These functions encompass financial, technological, legal, and information management. An example of this is our donation portal that has been designed to be user-friendly and process donations effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with organisational policies and legal requirements.
We thank God for calling these staff in using their expertise to serve. They are not less-called. Like our field staff, they too are contributing to making disciples everywhere.
