40 Days of Purpose: An Invitation to Intimacy with Jesus

By Katie Berglee

Are you having trouble hearing from God?

Lent is a great time to quiet the noise around you and really focus on Him.

There are 40 non-sabbath days until Easter Sunday. The church sets apart this time leading up to Easter, referred to as Lent, to reflect on and remember Jesus’ finished work on the cross — the work that conquered death.

We have been offered hope through Christ’s death and resurrection, and that is why for centuries people have taken time to reflect and celebrate. We have a future — love from a perfect God.

But we often forget the backstory. We forget what the stakes were to redeem our souls from the pit of darkness into which we were born. This year, in the 40 days leading up to the celebration of Christ’s resurrection, we want to focus intentionally on our need for Him and the beauty of how greatly He meets that need.

We invite you to join us over the next 40 days by seeking to silence the world and to prepare your heart for the celebration of Easter.

Ask the Holy Spirit to soften your heart. Carve out the daily time to turn your eyes toward the storyline of eternity and your need for an eternal Savior.

You may not know what to expect in the next 40 days, but know that God is faithful to meet those who wish to know and experience Him in a deeper, more intimate way. Will you join us?
