I recently went on a 7-day mission trip with Global Aid Network to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic where I was a co-leader of 43 high school students from Dallas.
While in the Dominican Republic, my team got the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, and distribute food, shoes and school supplies to needy people in schools, villages and drug rehabilitation centers.
At the drug rehab center, I had a chance to meet several men who were recovering from cocaine and meth addictions. One man in particular impressed me with his amazing turn around. “John” had been a performer at a popular resort in Puerto Plata and had been addicted to drugs for many years. He lost his family and missed seeing his children grow up because of his addictions. Finally, he entered the Christ-centered addiction center, surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and is getting his life back on track. The rehab center I visited is completely voluntary, and the men there can leave whenever they wish, but many stay the full 6 months and leave drug-free.
Besides visiting the rehab centers and small villages surrounding Puerto Plata, our team also visited several public schools. We were allowed to share the gospel openly, and many students as well as faculty members responded positively. The children received much-needed school supplies and especially enjoyed receiving letters from American families.

At a refugee camp in Syria, the situation went from bad to worse.
Do the images break your heart? Your response says a lot about the way God is working in your life.
Our prayers must be for God to heal lands and touch hearts! Our prayers must be that no man, woman, or child will be forced because of their desperation to commit unspeakable acts to provide for themselves or their children.
