Stories of Partnerships

We believe that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are offline. 

Since 2014, our Digital Strategy (DS)Team hasbeen rallying individuals, small groups, and churches to host their own Digital Outreach (DO). DO is a community of Christians who are sharing the gospel and making disciples in the digital space. Billions of people are in the internet 24/7 all over the globe, andDO is one of the most strategic ways to raise laborers to reachpeople that cannot be reachedotherwise. 

It would also take partnerships to make this possible, such as in December of 2017, when Philippine Campus Crusade for Christ (PCCC) partnered with the Philippine Council for Evangelical Churches, and 40 church leaders. PCCC trained the church leaders in hosting a Digital Outreach. 

One of the trainees was Pastor Matthew Velasquez, a youth pastor in Capitol City Baptist Church. Three months after the training, he organized a digital outreach and trained 30 people from 12 different churches.

This April 2018, PCCC Digital Strategy team partnered with the Global Leadership Center of Christ Commission Fellowship. Fifty eight were trained and experienced doing digital outreach for the first time.

Partnership with ABBCOP

The Alliance of Bible Christian Communities of the Philippines (ABCCOP) national leaders partnered with PCCC to conduct Operation Jabez (OJ) in Boracay. 

These national leaders are UP CCC alumni who have joined OJ as students. They chose Boracay as their target area to help Beacon of Christ, a year-old pioneering ABBCOP church there.

OJ Boracay would be their pilot project for church planting and multiplication. It was also the perfect timing; the six-month temporary closure of Boracay loomed on the horizon.

A week before the Boracay closure, three PCCC missionaries joined the ABBCOP team in Boracay to train 5 leaders of the Beacon of Christ. These five leaders then passed on what they learned to their church members. Through intentional mentoring and coaching, the church members experienced breakthroughs in evangelism, and many experienced having disciples for the very first time! They now regularly train and go out to the community to model and coach the others in evangelism and discipleship.

Pastor Rene, Chairman of the ABBCOP National CounciI of Leaders said “I am excited to see ABCCOP missionaries embracing this strategic partnership as they get involved in church planting movements. This collaborative effort will… enhance, if not challenge, theexisting methods and strategies to produce spiritually multiplying churches not only in their geographical areas of assignment but also in their respective spheres of influence...”

Pastor Kenny Garcia, the Vice Chairman, echoed this: “The partnership we had in OJ Boracay with the simple and transferable strategy gave way for us to revisit our church planting effort. It’s time to shift to what works...”

The partnership has opened doors for the two organizations to work closely in leveraging the church planting movements in the country. ABBCOP has over 600 church networks in the Philippines. OJ Boracay was a successful pilot project and will serve as a model for ABCCOP churches who want to adopt the church planting movements strategy. That week,71 people were exposed to the gospel, 111 prayed to receive Christ and 15 finished the follow up lesson 1.

Partnership with Trinity University of Asia

In June of 2017, the Metro Manila Catalytic team (a campus ministry of PCCC) met with Dr. Wilfred Tiu, president of Trinity University of Asia (TUA), to discuss partnership in starting a ministry in his campus. 

When they saw a significant impact of evangelism and discipleship after a series of ministry exposures inside the campus, a partnership was sealed. One of the earlier fruits of this partnership was TUA’s annual college recollection where a PCCC campus staff shared the gospel to almost 900 students. 

Four hundred eighty three surrendered their lives to Christ and 186 expressed a desire to grow more in their relationship with God. ATU and PCCC pray that the 186 students will be followed up, with the hope that an on-going spiritual multiplication will take place in the campus. It’s a great joy to see the ATU faculty and administration opening doors for the gospel, so students can find the love and hope only Jesus can give.
