Many of our partners are passionate about reaching the inner city with the hope and love of God. And Pastor Paul, a Cru® partner in the Twin Cities, is one of them. Paul has an obviously passionate heart to reach out to the lost and hurting through his ministry, Second Chance Ministries. Our Compassionate Products™ can be a powerful tool for doing just that.
So Pastor Paul and his ministry requested some of our Homeless Care Kits to share with the people they might encounter in their community. A woman who attends Second Chance, named Brenda, stocked her car with several of the Kits to be ready for whomever she might see...
One cold, rainy winter day, Brenda was out and about, running errands when she noticed a man with a cardboard sign standing on an adjacent street corner. His sign said it all: homeless and in need of help. From her car's direction, Brenda couldn't get to the man. But, she didn't give up. She simply asked God to keep the man there until she came back.
When she returned, Brenda saw that the man with his sign was still there. She stopped to give him one of the Homeless Care Kits. She was amazed when the man responded in disbelief, "You saw me — even in the pouring rain you saw me!" He added words of thanks and blessing to Brenda, exclaiming that God would honor her because she was serving Him.
How wonderful that while serving to bless others, Brenda would be blessed in return! We are deeply grateful for faithful, compassionate partners like Pastor Paul and Brenda! With partnerships like these, we create options together to bring the hope of the gospel to men, women and children in our cities!
