Commentaries range in size and complexity and the first step into the world of commentaries is a Study Bible. The ESV Study Bible is a great one, as is the classic NIV Study Bible .
Going deeper in your study, you may want even more information than a Study Bible provides. The NIV Life Application Commentary (NIVAC) devotes nearly an entire volume to each and every book of the Bible. That ought to keep you busy.
