Our statement is structured around four themes: creation, fall, redemption and oneness in gospel witness.
We believe every human being is made in the image of God and we affirm the God-given worth, dignity and equality of men and women from every tribe, language, people and nation. Because ethnicity is part of the good of creation, we seek to honor and celebrate the ethnic identity of those with whom we serve as well as those we seek to reach. We are also committed to ensuring that our ministries and leadership reflect the ethnic diversity of the communities we serve.
We believe humanity has rebelled against God and that men and women are alienated from God and from one another. This alienation often manifests itself, both individually and corporately, in prejudice, racism and injustice. We are committed to being a community where we embrace ethnicity in ways that bring healing, growth, and greater unity in the body of Christ. We are also committed to developing policies and systems that enable people from all ethnic backgrounds to participate fully in the mission of Cru.
We believe Jesus Christ died and rose to create a community of redeemed people from every tribe, language, people and nation. We are committed to engage all peoples with the good news of the gospel and invite them to follow Jesus. Because the cross reconciles us both to God and to one another as cherished brothers and sisters, we are committed to love well, listen well, repent well and forgive well. We are also committed to equipping everyone in Cru to minister cross-culturally.
We believe how we relate to one another will affirm or undermine our gospel witness. We seek to live in oneness in response to Jesus’ prayer in John 17 so the world will know that the Father sent him. We commit to living out the Great Commandment as we help fulfill the Great Commission--becoming a colorful tapestry, serving together in unity and proclaiming Jesus Christ to the world in word and deed.
