XENIA, Ohio, September 19, 2024—College basketball is coming back to Ohio! Tickets are now on sale for the Total Athlete Tip-Off, a Division I basketball showcase. The event, hosted by Athletes In Action and presenting partner AION, will take place at the John Wooden Family Fieldhouse Nov. 4 and feature six Division I schools.
Teams taking the hardwood will include Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Indiana State University, Liberty University and Valparaiso University. In its inaugural year, the Total Athlete Tip-Off will feature high-level matchups on the men’s and women’s sides.
FAU’s men’s team enjoyed an NCAA tournament bid in 2024 but fell short to Northwestern University in the first round for an early exit. In 2023, the FAU Owls made it to the Final Four before being narrowly edged out by San Diego State University in a 72-71 loss. Additional teams will be announced to compete in the Total Athlete Tip-Off at a later date. Tickets to the showcase can be found online at totalathletetipoff.com.
The neutral site event will seek to holistically serve athletes, using the state-of-the-art John Wooden Family Fieldhouse—the namesake venue of legendary University of California, Los Angeles Coach John Wooden.
“Sports provide a unique unifying platform to connect people like few things in society. Athletes in Action’s historically rich tradition in basketball, its promising upstart Prep Academy and the new John Wooden Family Fieldhouse are all opportunities to leverage the game to be a beacon to our community. We’re excited to see how the Total Athlete Tip-Off elevates the metro Dayton area and the college basketball landscape as a whole,” said Jared Miller, Athletes in Action’s director of basketball.
