It was during Sean’s freshman year that Cru changed both him and our entire family. During this time Sean accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. It was during Sean’s freshman year he went to their annual conference – the Myrtle Beach Getaway – it was this trip that I truly believe gave us a new beginning as a family. I will always remember Sean’s comments upon returning home. He came in with a handful of books and tapes from the conference and set them down and said, ‘Mom, there is no doubt in my mind now that Jesus is real.’ I was awestruck and ecstatic. Sean continued to grow in his faith and in his involvement with Cru all through his time in high school.
